Lyme Disease Symptoms
- SymptomsEarly symptoms include a red, expanding rash called erythema migrans, fever, headache, fatigue, and general ill feeling.
Lyme disease is primarily caused by a tick. And a lot of people, I live here in Texas, central Texas, and a lot of people don’t even know that there’s that kind of tick here and there is. We have deer ticks everywhere. And they’re, they’re tiny little things. They look like a little bitty freckle. And most of the time, you don’t even know that you have been bit by a tick. Only 30% of people that have been officially diagnosed with lyme disease, only 30% of those ever develop a bullseye rash.
I didn’t even know what Lyme disease was. I had the mentality of like, well, it doesn’t hurt, doesn’t itch, it’ll go away. Well, that part did go away, the rash did. But six months later, my life fell apart. And Lyme disease is a little corkscrew shaped bacteria. The bacteria that causes Lyme disease is Borrelia burgdorferi. This tick burrows itself deep into your tissue and, and then it forms, it forms this, this little bubble around it.
So, it’s really hard to get penetrated by antibiotics when it becomes chronic Lyme disease because that biofilm has been developed around it. By the time I found out I had chronic Lyme disease, it’d been 18 months. Now, for me, my symptoms were mostly neurological.
- So I had really, really bad brain fog, which is inflammation of the brain. I had severe depression, confusion, memory loss, severe panic attacks.
- Also had heavy metal toxicity, horrific gut issues, hypothyroidism, and anemia.

Navigating the Emotional Trials of Divorce and Narcissistic Manipulation
The emotional turmoil of divorce layered Janna’s journey with complex challenges that tested her emotional resilience. After experiencing a painful betrayal, and Narcissistic Manipulation from her husband. She faced not only personal heartbreak but also the daunting task of protecting and nurturing her three children through the upheaval. This experience compelled Janna to revisit foundational aspects of her identity, resilience, and strength. She shares a hauntingly beautiful reflection on this phase:
“The beautiful thing about being completely broken is you get to put yourself back together, but you get to do it differently.”
In her time of hardship, both from Lyme disease and Narcissistic Manipulation, Janna embarked on an introspective journey to Oklahoma. This became a crucible for her healing and transformation. Her insights into forgiveness reveal a unique perspective that is both empowering and liberating. Forgiveness became an act of self-liberation rather than reconciliation with the past:
“Forgiveness is when you take your power back and say, you hurt me once, but I’m not going to carry that with me and let you hurt me every day thereafter.”
Through her ordeal, Janna not only rediscovered herself but also prioritized her children’s well-being by modeling resilience and integrity. Her story inspires those facing similar emotional crises and Narcissistic Manipulation to have faith in their journey and embrace self-growth and healing.
The Role of Self-Love and Authenticity in Healing from Narcissistic Manipulation
Both Janna’s fight against Lyme disease and her path through divorce highlight the essential role of self-love and authenticity in personal healing. Embracing authenticity and vulnerability allowed her to step into her full potential, confronting and dismantling limiting beliefs that hindered her progress. As she deftly explains, “Stay true to who you are. Follow your passion. It’s not stupid. And yeah, maybe there’s a thousand other people doing it, but I’m the only one that has my voice.”
This profound self-awareness provided the groundwork for Janna’s subsequent endeavors, including writing a book designed to help others, and her commitment to health and wellness coaching. Her emphasis on self-love is crucial, as it equips individuals to face life’s adversities from a place of strength and confidence. Janna articulates that the journey to empowerment begins with how we perceive and treat ourselves, a message that resonates deeply with anyone striving for personal growth.
Her insights into cultivating an overcoming mindset emphasize resilience, self-discipline, and authenticity as keystones to transforming one’s life.
