This exploration dives into the inspiring concepts of reinventing your life, regardless of age, as shared by coach Myrna on her podcast. Here, we explore key themes that can empower anyone to initiate personal change and growth.

1. The Myth of Age as a Limitation

The notion that age limits our potential is a pervasive myth. As Coach Myrna eloquently points out in her podcast, “You’re never too old to do anything that you want to do.” Whether it’s Vera Wang designing her first dress at 40 or Colonel Sanders launching KFC at 65, history is abundant with examples of people defying age norms.

Embrace Your Superpower: Life Experience

The podcast advocates viewing age as a superpower, highlighting that “at 40, 50, and 60 plus, you have wisdom, perspective, and resilience.” These qualities, Ample life experience and resilience make you well-equipped to tackle new ventures. The unique insights and experiences gained over the years can propel you towards a fulfilling reinvention.

The Power of Life Experience and Wisdom

Harness your life experience, and leverage the wisdom you’ve accrued over the years to guide your reinvention journey. As Myrna emphasizes, “You’re building on a lifetime of skills, lessons, and resilience.”

By focusing on how your age brings unique advantages, you transform a perceived barrier into a powerful tool, one that can significantly impact your life’s trajectory.

2. Releasing Limiting Beliefs on How to Reinvent Yourself

Every reinvention journey requires shedding limiting beliefs that hinder personal growth. Often these beliefs are rooted in fear of failure or societal perceptions, but it’s crucial to challenge and release these self-imposed barriers.

Accepting Courage Over Complacency

Reinvention requires embracing change and the courage to step out of comfort zones. Myrna’s message is clear: “Failure is being okay with an unsatisfactory life… reinvention is a sign of courage, not failure.”

Redefining Failure and Embracing Growth

Dismiss the myth that pursuing a new path is synonymous with failure. Instead, recognize it as a bold step towards personal growth. Being anchored in complacency signifies true stagnation, whereas reinvention propels you towards a dynamic and fulfilling life.

By freeing yourself from the confines of perceived failure and societal expectations, you align your actions with your true purpose, fostering a life characterized by growth and satisfaction.

3. Steps Toward Successful Reinvention

Recognizing the need for change is just the beginning. Coach Myrna offers a structured five-step approach to successfully reinvent yourself, beginning with self-assessment and culminating in taking bold action steps.

Crafting a New Vision for Yourself

Deciding on your new path involves redefining your personal narrative. “Who do you want to become, not who you think you should be,” Myrna urges listeners. Drawing insights from vision boards, reading, and role models can illuminate the path forward.

Creating Your Personal Change Plan

Identify what’s not working, “get brutally honest,” and create actionable goals for your new vision. Document your aspirations and break them into manageable steps. By actively directing the course of your life, transformation from aspiration to reality becomes achievable.

Reinvent Yourself: A Journey Unbound by Age or Limitations

Reinvention beckons those willing to embrace change, irrespective of age. By dissolving traditional age-related constraints and embracing personal transformation, one can redefine life’s contours. Initiating reinvention might seem daunting, but Myrna’s inclusive steps—to evaluate, redefine, release, act, and immerse—are pivotal in navigating this journey.

Revealing insights into personal reinvention underscore that while age is merely a number, the transformative power lies in your hands. Each new chapter demands your authorship, allowing you to sculpt your narrative in ways that echo your growth and aspirations.

If you’re ready to rewrite your life’s next chapter, inspired by these actionable themes, the only barrier is your own hesitation. Engage in public acknowledgment or reach out to Coach Myrna and begin mapping your transformative journey today. Transform your intentions into actions, and destined reinvention awaits those who dare to act.

Myrna’s Story of Reinvention 3 times

Let me share my own personal story with you to cement the fact that if I can do it, you can do it. I reinvented myself at 55 years old. Became a certified life coach and later a radio and podcast host. But before that day when I saw the word life coach in a newspaper, I had no idea what a life coach was or does. And the more I researched the topic of what a life coach does, the more I realized I was born for this role. So you see, you can go all the way to 55, 65, even 75 without realizing your life purpose on this earth. But if you are open to the universe talking into your life and speaking into your life, sooner or later you will get the message.

And when I got the message, it opened me right up. I mean, I knew immediately that’s what I was supposed to do. And you know what? I didn’t procrastinate. Two weeks later, I was signed up for a Life coaching certification program at the University of Miami. When you get the call, act on it. One of my podcast guests recently told me recently that she can read my aura, and my aura says that I’m an entrepreneur.  I have a blue aura which is has to do with speaking, and has to do with communication. So yes, this is what I’m supposed to do.  I am walking in my purpose.

Reinventing myself at age 17

But becoming a Lifecoach was my third reinvention. My first reinvention is me leaving Guyana at 17 years old, leaving all my friends, leaving all my family. I had just graduated from high school and started a new job. I had a new boyfriend that I was in love with. And I cried like crazy because my mom, moved to Canada and decided to take her kids with her. Of course, she had to. But I went kicking and screaming. But then when I got to Canada, I reinvented myself again. I went looking for work and this friend said to me, “Hey, why don’t you go apply at the bank?” And without any previous banking experience, I went and applied and I got the job and she didn’t get the job.

So, I started my banking career at age 17. So, that was my first reinvention at age 17. You might think it’s a little early to call it a reinvention, but yes, it’s reinvention because I left everything I knew and started a new life in a new country.

How to Reinvent Yourself at age 35

But then my second reinvention is the one that I talk about all the time because it’s who I am. One of the experiences that led me to what I’m doing now. I was an entrepreneur, a limousine operator. I was 35 years old when I went to a Tony Robbins seminar. How many of you Tony Robbins changed your life? Well, he changed mine. I went to a Tony Robbins seminar that was called Unleashing the Power Within. And I walked out of that seminar saying that I was an entrepreneur and my internal power had been released.

And guess what? I was great at being a limousine operator. It so happens that I loved this entrepreneural stuff. I became the top female limousine operator in Toronto, even winning the entrepreneur of the year award. Yes. And I’ve never looked back. I am an entrepreneur. I love people and I love, the interaction with people. That makes me a great salesperson.

But I have a personal story, too. I did all this while I was healing from childhood trauma. That’s also a reinvention. You leave the past behind, you leave the trauma behind, and you start off with a new story, with a new journey. And all I did all these things while I authored three books. My latest book is called Out of the Snares, but I have two before that. I have, Becoming Conscious, my awakening, which was my first book, and my second book was called Minding Your Own Business. It’s about a side hustle, teaching people how to be entrepreneurs.  All right. So, why did I tell you all that? I told you all that to prove a point that you can reinvent yourself at any age.
